Nick Colbey won the Red Bull Junior surf Masters - Lennox Head Trials 9th August 08.

He will be in Final which will be held at August 30-31 at Manly.

"Local Suffolk Park surfer Nick Colbey is the winner of the Red Bull Junior Surf Masters qualifying event at Lennox Head. Colbey surfed intelligently in a testing final by selecting the best quality waves and surfing them to shore with flair and precision.

“It was really tough out there,” said a thrilled Colbey afterwards, “It was difficult to judge which waves were going to link up to the inside bank and allow you a good score.” Colbey, 18, surfed his best wave for well over 100 meters – a ride that took him out of sight of judges and spectators and required a sprint up Lennox Beach to return to the contest site.

After an excellent start to proceedings, surf conditions were made challenging by onshore winds and a decreasing swell for the Finals. Two of the stand out surfers from earlier in the day – Brent Savage and Damo Norman – were eliminated in the hotly contested field.

Kingscliff’s Brad King finished second, Coffs Harbour surfer Alex Maniatis third, and Kingscliff’s Kieran Lloyd took fourth place."

I am enjoying this cold weather. 

Colder it gets, less people to share in water.

Thanks to my custom made wetsuits which created by my Japanese friend.

It is brihgt Red all over with white stripe, I look like one of Power rangers.

We have constant inquiries about difference between Lip Hit and Speed Fish.

They look similar especially bigger boards.

写真は、東側を撮ってます。西の夕日の反射で東の空が光って、そして虹が２本。

波は、サイズのあるセットが５分に一回入ってきて、ちょっとチョッピーで、風が強いけど、楽しい。

寒いので、１０人ぐらいで、波をシェアー出来ました。

Around 3PM-(－)  rain stopped after 3 days of raining and wind direction has changed.

Danny Wills was there as well but I was checking my camera when he was in Tube in front of me.

すばらしい波とすばらしいサーファーを見て、堪能しました。

デニーウィルスも、サーフィンしていたのに、カメラの準備をしていたら、目の前でデニーが深―いチューブをメークしていて、間に合いませんでした。

でも、Nickの写真は、撮れました。

日没の１時間前に、潮目と風がぴったり合いました。

久々のいい波です。　

波がいいのと、サイズがあるのとで、皆さんフレンドリーな感じですが、無言。

セットの合間は、シーンと静まりかえっていて、ちょっと神聖な雰囲気に。

Let's face it, wiping out is inevidable. Nobody wants their hat coming off either,

seeing its the last thing they should be worrying out.

Your ProtecSun surf hat and cap will never come off.

Therefore, its a really good thing to know that you have peace of mind when it comes to stacking.

It seems Winter has come for 24 hours last week and got warm again in Byron Bay.

We made some more stocks since I up-dated last time.

Keymeoh is wearing New Red Surf hat -  he loves the colour.

The Red Surfhats will be available in XS and Small sizes only.

Keymeoh wears this red hat all the time in water. He wears in surfing contests which make him stands out in the cotest.   

If you chose White, Tan, Red colour hats and caps for your love ones, it is really easy to spot them. 

One of the highlights in Japan is - went to Good Skate Park and Met Yasutoko family.

Yasutoko Family owns and runs the Good Skate Park in Kobe in Japan  which is the one of the best skate park in the world.

The sons - Yasutoko Brothers are both world champions of inline skate- when we were there - older brother - Eito -was at the park and we were able to see his demonnstration as well. It was fantastic to see the incredible skating right infront of us.

Everyone there was real nice and freindly. I am sure we are going to comute there when we are in Japan next time.

Eito has not surfed yet and he did not know who is Kally Slater is either.

I hope when Yasutoko brothers are in Ausralia next time, we'll surf together in Byron Bay.

今回の日本でのハイライトのひとつは、神戸のグッドスケートパークに遊びに行ったことです。

世界でトップクラスのものすごいスケートボードパークです。

そして、ヤストコブラザーズの栄人さんにデモを見せてもらいました。もう、すごいの一言でした。

他の人とは、まるで違う轟音を立てて、ものすごいパワフルなライディングを見せてもらいました。

本当にありがとう。ヤストコ　ブラザースは、オーストラリアでも有名です。テレビでもインラインスケートで

ヤストコブラザースは、よく出ています。

栄人さんはサーフィンは、したことが無いとのこと。ぜひ一緒にバイロンでサーフィンをしたいですねと言う話をしました。

ヤストコブラザーズは、サーフィンのケリー　スレーターですねといったら、それは、誰ですか？とのことでした。

やはり、サーフィンは、日本では、マイナーなスポーツなのですね。

No current, warm, fun, 5-10 min. between the sets.

KEYMEOHと友達は、相変わらずどんな波でも大丈夫です。

GENEは、風裏の灯台と反対側の6ヒィートの大きい波で、同じ頃サーフィンしていたそうです。

暖かい、冬ですね。海では、裸で入っている人もちらほらいます。

今年は、プロジュニアの試合でがんばっています。

I like this day - shortest day of Year. I really like it.

The daylight is getting longer - Tomorrow - we can surf longer hours.

I think everyone had pretty good surf around here today. 

Warm warm day. Not much croud. Not much wind.

こちらの冬至ですね。日本は夏至。冬至は、かぼちゃを食べるけど、

私たちは、食べませんでした。日本の夏至は、何を食べるのでしょうか？

今日は、うねりの大きさと向きと風がよくって、ほとんどどこのポイントでもサーフィンできるという、

本当に珍しい日でした。一番寒い時期なのに、暖かく、T-shirts で大丈夫でした。T-shirst でサーフィンしている人もいました。雲も少なく、抜けるように空がカラットしてました。明日は、さらにうねりが大きくなるので、どうなることでしょう。

This Groper Fish was custom made for a Customer.

The blank was custom made - stringer was specially glue to widen the width.

Attached Complimentary Photo: Nick Colby (Byron Bay) surfing against Australia's very best aerial surfers on day one of the Boost Mobile Surf Sho at Surfers Paradise today. Colby was super impressive and was one of the days most impressive performers making the final but eventually he placed second behind fellow NSW surfer Owen Wright (Sth Coast NSW). Unfortunately for Colby only the winner of today's Pro Juniors progressed through to Sundays final at the Boost Mobile Surf Sho which will see the world's best serial surfers including Taj Burrow (AUS), C J Hobgood (USA) and Bede Durbidge (AUS).

Colby however gets a second chance to make Sunday's final in tomorrow's open division where the top four placed surfers go through to Sunday's finals day. Tomorrows Open division includes all of Australia's very best aerialist surfers.

Groper Fish (The largest Dart Fish) is for people 110KG+  Pictured board is 7'6", 24 1/4", 3 3/4". 

Deep Swallow Tail, clean rocker and outline. Foiled deck, very slight single to double concave

with tail Vee. Great traditional feel.  Very fast and they glide over flats.

WCT team rider Danny Wills has qualified for the 2008 circuit by a hair.

The first half of 2007 Danny went so well and resuited in a top placing of 8th

in the world after the J-Bay contest.
